We have dedicated ourselves to working with those in need in Kenya.
We have been active in the following communities:
Kitale: is a town of over 100,000 in the Breadbasket of Kenya. We have helped Sister Freda Robinson’s Cottage Hospital expand from 8 to 30 beds. We pay for a physician at the hospital and helped found the Nzoia Nursing School, educating over 100 students for a career in nursing.
Karatina: Is a town near Mt Kenya and home of the Tumutumu Presbyterian Hospital. We have supplied the hospital with supplies; an industrial washer-dryer; and, with Dallas NorthPark Presbyterian Church, an Eye Clinic. The first day the Eye Clinic saw over 500 patients.
Lodwar: Turkana is the northernmost district in Kenya. It is semi arid and subject to severe drought and famine. We travelled here in early 2014 to assess the needs of this hard hit area.
Ortum: We have done medical clinics for several years in this area inhabitated by the Pokot Tribe. WE have seen malaria, worm infestation, skin and wound infections, and Brucellosis. This area has a high incidence of Trachoma eye infections and resulting blindness. With Dr. Rob Henslick we have educated the community in prevention of this very preventable condition.
